Christopher Connolly
Get better.
I’m from Fatima Mansions in Rialto, Dublin. I’m a dad. I’ve talked openly about addiction to alcohol and cocaine, and about losing my footing in lockdown.
I got treatment at Aiséirí in Tipperary. Running started there, not in a gym. I ran the Dublin Marathon in 2022. I’ve been sober for years, and running is a tool to stay that way.
The name comes from dropping the idea that I have to arrive somewhere finished. I know that I’ll never be perfect, but I can always be better.
The daily run became a way to talk to people. Then it became a club. The first one was the Phoenix Park, Dublin, New Year’s Day 2025. The aim is a club in every county on the island.
I’m not proud of myself, but I am grateful. I explain the difference in the VIP Magazine interview below.

About this site
Everything here comes from interviews I’ve given, press coverage and my own public posts, checked on 5 October 2026. Where the record is unclear, for instance which counties have a club, the site says less rather than guesses. Numbers from the Spain run are the plan as announced, not a live tracker.
